NJM: What is the focus of your practice?
The root canal.
NJM: What technology has changed patient care in recent years?
Planmeca ProMax cone-beam 3D imaging. Regular X-rays are taken in two dimensions. The 3D is almost like a CT scan of the tooth and jaw. You can dissect the tooth. You can take it apart, see the layers and the three-dimensional views of the jaw and the area that you are looking at, so it gives a more complete diagnosis and treatment plan prior to doing a procedure on a patient, and especially for what we do, for pain management. Pain can be anywhere, and so that’s why 3D imaging has been helpful in diagnosis. Before, without getting a full image of the area, only two dimensions, you wouldn’t be totally guessing, but with this, you definitively know what the issues are.
NJM: What are your favorite activities outside the office?
I like spending time with my family, husband and kids. I have three kids, ages 10, 8 and 5. I also like gardening and skiing.
