Philly Considers Opening Second Casino

Atlantic City may be facing some new competition, as Philadelphia contemplates opening another casino. On November 18, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will vote on whether the City of Brotherly Love will get a second casino. The board will also decide which of the proposed projects will ultimately be chosen.

Booker Wins, but Republicans Take U.S. Senate

Cory Booker will have his work cut out for him in a newly-red Washington, as Republicans have won control of the U.S. Senate. Booker defeated challenger Jeff Bell to hold onto his seat as New Jersey’s Senator, nabbing 56 percent of the vote.

Sayreville Coach Suspended, Outraged Community Protests

Sayreville football coach George Najjar has been suspended following a unanimous vote last night by the Sayreville Board of Education. Najjar has coached at Sayreville for two decades and led the team to three state titles. His suspension, as well as the suspension of four other assistant coaches, is with pay.
