Opening

Brothers Daley, Sea Bright

Summer may be over soon, but there are still new things to experience at the Shore, like Brothers Daley, a new restaurant and bar in Sea Bright. The elevated Irish-inspired restaurant, open Wednesday-Sunday, features indoor and outdoor courtyard seating with plenty of warm lighting accents from chandeliers, stained glass lamps and string lights. The menu is made up of items from its raw bar; appetizers like Irish soda bread and deviled eggs; entrées like sweet corn agnolotti, brioche crusted halibut and overnight lamb shoulder; and Irish-themed desserts like white chocolate whiskey cake and Irish coffee. The extensive bar menu features everything from wine and mixed drinks to Irish beers and whiskeys.

Schmackary’s Cookies, Englewood

The original, buzzy Schmackary’s is located in the heart of New York City’s theater district. Inspired by Broadway shows and its performers, Schmackary’s developed a popular following by theater goers and tourists. The shop’s first franchise opened this week in Englewood, serving the same “lip-schmackin good” cookies as its flagship. Large, creative, loaded cookies make up the shop’s menu, including flavors like funfetti, sweet corn, green tea and peanuts for elephants, a cookie inspired by the current Broadway production of Water for Elephants.

Farinolio, Summit

This Italian restaurant celebrated the soft opening of its second location this week. Farinolio–a name that combines farina (flour) and olio (oil)–opened its Westfield location in 2018. Farinolio has had years of growth and success selling Tuscan-inspired sandwiches, salads, pastries, charcuterie boards and coffees, as well as hosting regular cooking classes. The new location, located just a few towns away, will offer the same bites and experiences.

Cacia’s Bakery & Deli, Haddonfield

South Philadelphia-based Italian bakery, deli and pizzeria Cacia’s has been a staple in South Jersey for more than 70 years, with locations in Cherry Hill, Blackwood, Williamstown and Hammonton. Last summer, its Audubon location shuttered, and its latest Haddonfield location is its replacement. Cacia’s sells everything from homemade square pizza and tomato pie slices, hoagies and stromboli to cookies, cakes and cannolis.

Carlo’s Bakery, Marlton

Early this summer, TLC’s Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro, set up shop down the Jersey Shore at Harrah’s Resort & Casino in Atlantic City. Buddy’s Boardwalk Empire–a fast-casual dine-in and grab-and-go Italian eatery–was only Valastro’s second South Jersey residency. His first spot was Carlo’s Bakery in Marlton, which opened nearly a decade ago, following the success of the bakery’s Hoboken location. Last week, the Marlton location shuttered. The Hoboken location remains open, and there are five cake vending machines across New Jersey.
