Closing

Papa’s Pizza, Sewell

After nearly 30 years in business, a popular Gloucester County pizzeria is closing. The family behind the business posted on Facebook and TikTok earlier this week their reasons for closing. They wrote in the post that the company that owns the property “raised our rent so astronomically high we are left with no choice.” In the TikTok, one of the owners, Andrea, said their rent was going to be raised 17 percent this year, in addition to further charges that the small mom-and-pop business could not afford. The pizzeria, which opened in 1996, was known for its thin-crust pizza, sandwiches, wings and other pizzeria staples.
