The Peach Truck is headed to the Garden State.

Created by Stephen and Jessica Rose, the Peach Truck brings fresh Georgia peaches to consumers, so there’s no need to travel South for the Peach State’s delicious treasures. Stephen felt there would be demand for such a business after he left his hometown in Georgia and moved to Nashville in 2010.

“It made no sense to me that we were just a state over and couldn’t find any good peaches here,” he says.

The Roses source peaches from farms in Georgia and South Carolina that you can have delivered to your door year-round. This summer, the Peach Truck is on tour, stopping in hundreds of cities to offer peaches, salsas, jams, hot sauce and more. To get yours, pre-order items five days prior to the truck’s arrival in your area (see below). Set up a time, place your order, and head to the Peach Truck’s location for pickup.

This year, the Peach Truck celebrates its 10th anniversary, and the Roses plan to expand by offering apples and pears in addition to peaches. Right now, however, they are preparing for three days in New Jersey: July 5 in Cherry Hill, Langhorne and Lawrenceville; July 6 in East Brunswick, Jackson, Allentown and Hillsborough Township; and July 7 in Edison, Livingston, Wayne, Elizabethtown, Rockaway and Paramus.

How did the Peach Truck begin?
Stephen Rose: I grew up in this little town in the middle of nowhere in Georgia, where all the Georgia peaches are grown. I grew up eating the peaches off the trees. We started bringing those peaches to Nashville in 2012 and from there just expanded.

Tell me about this summer’s tour.
We hit about 900 stops. People can go to our website to pre-order a box of peaches or two and head to your designated time and location to get them. Right off the tree makes a world of difference for peaches, and we get to bring that joy to people all over the country.

It’s super nostalgic to bring that childhood flavor to people. So many people have the same great memories as me. Like having a great peach once with their grandpa, and not being able to find one like it since. It’s cool to be able to do that for people.

What’s it been like growing this brand?
Getting to give those simple joys to people all over the place is great. We have dealt with some logistical issues, but we make sure every stop has peaches, and that they’re fresh. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

What’s it been like building the brand with your wife, Jessica?
It’s been so fun. People often ask me how we do it. We came back from our honeymoon and two days later started the company. We have loved growing this thing together.

Have you been to Jersey before?
Yes, definitely. I love New Jersey. It’s so beautiful out there. Really cool.

What’s your favorite thing to make with peaches?
It sounds so basic, but peach cobbler. It’s sweet, salty and crunchy. There’s just nothing like it.

What has been your favorite moment?
Seeing how families have integrated us into their summer traditions. Or having people make a special recipe every year with our peaches. Knowing that our company is a part of those things for families is so special to us.
