Copper Dog in Wildwood

STYLE

Chic yet laid-back restaurant and bar with spacious indoor/outdoor seating, dog-inspired decor, and live music.

THE SCOOP

The restaurant, which pays homage to the owner’s own dog, opened last May. It replaced the historic Kelly’s Cafe, an Irish pub that was in operation for nearly 85 years.

THE MENU

The eclectic menu boasts 15 different pizzas, including chicken Caesar and the Beachside Lobster—garlic cream, lobster, roasted garlic and tomato. Other Italian favorites include clams and linguine, chicken parmigiana and meatballs. A large sushi menu offers ten options, including a delicious diamond roll with salmon, avocado, tuna, sweet chili and mango. Have it with the steamed chicken potstickers, topped with Asian glaze and scallions.

Or, if you prefer to keep it more on the pub side, try the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich—served on a pawprint-stamped bun. It’s crispy and juicy and comes with thin-cut fries. Other options include beef street tacos, a Korean barbecued pulled pork sandwich, French onion soup, crab cakes, and buffalo wings. Don’t skip the bar, which has an extensive wine list, local drafts and tasty cocktails.

HEADS UP

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor dining area, and there is even a dog-friendly menu.
