Manouche & Co. in Bloomfield
STYLE
Airy chrome-and-glass storefront with simple, clean decor, wood tables and paneling.
THE SCOOP
Open since 2021 and run by Lebanese native Eli Chalet, Manouche serves all the greatest hits of Middle-Eastern cuisine, plus sides and desserts with the flavor of his home country.
THE MENU
The spit-cooked gyro lamb and grilled pieces of white-meat chicken are moist and tender, and the soft but dense pita, with tomatoes, lettuce and tzatziki sauce, add crunch, texture, flavor and more juice. Start with the Ouche Dipper: hummus, baba ghanoush, labneh and baked feta with za’atar-seasoned pita chips.
Or opt for grape leaves, manakish (grilled flatbread with veggies and cheese) or boorak (phyllo-wrapped cheese sticks). For your main, mix it up with a combination platter that includes kofta kebab, chicken, steak and two sides. Choose the colorful shmandar (beet salad), tabbouleh or roast potatoes.

HEADS UP
Leave room for dessert; the Lebanese are known for their pastries, all made in-house. Try the heaven cake (phyllo stuffed with pistachios and layered with whipped cream) or kenefah, cheese pastry drizzled with sweet syrup in sesame bread.
