Red Hot & Blue
2175 Marlton Pike West (Route 70)
Hours: Sun through Thurs, 11 am–10 pm; Fri and Sat, 11 am–11 pm
Style: Don’t let its location inside the Holiday Inn fool you. Red Hot & Blue—an authentic ribs, blues and beer joint—has its own personality, rip-roaring and Southern. Business travelers eat and drink shoulder-to-shoulder with a steady stream of locals, all enjoying raucous live music.
Don’t Miss: Come for the ribs, available in four different sauces and styles, including dry ribs Memphis-style and wet ribs in the signature Mojo Mild BBQ sauce. A half slab ($14.99) easily feeds one person. Platters come with barbecued beans and cole slaw. The pulled pork sandwich ($8.99) with a mild barbecue sauce is hearty, hickory smoked and piled high. In the Carolina chopped pork sandwich ($8.99), the same shoulder meat gets Carolina’s signature vinegar sauce. Salads are not afterthoughts. Try the smokehouse salad ($9.99), pulled chicken and beef brisket, corn, bell peppers and cheese over mixed greens. Share a basket of sweet potato fries ($4.99). You probably won’t have room for dessert, but it would be a shame to leave without at least tasting the peanut butter pie with chocolate graham cracker crust ($4.99).
Heads Up: Thursday night’s attraction is all-you-can-eat-ribs ($15.99). From 6 to 10 pm, you can chow down to the sounds of live blues.
The Scoop: This North Carolina-based franchise (Cherry Hill is the lone New Jersey location) is the real deal for Southern-style BBQ.Click here to leave a comment
