Hours: Tues-Fri, 10 am–4 pm; Sat, 9 am–4 pm.
Price: $
Style: Charmingly mismatched tables and chairs give this hugely popular lunch and coffee spot its quaint signature look.
Don’t Miss: The sandwiches are superb, many on homemade bread. The Santa Barbara ($7.95) accents chicken salad or tuna salad with sliced apples and cinnamon on toasted raisin bread. The Mozz-Focaccia ($9.95) combines fresh mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes and roasted red peppers with balsamic vinaigrette on warm garlic Focaccia. Ham and brie ($8.95) tops honey-roasted ham with brie, apples, romaine and cinnamon-honey mustard on pumpernickel. All sandwiches come with tortilla chips and house-made salsa. Worthy salads include the Gorgonzola (mixed greens, apples, grapes, walnuts and the namesake cheese, $9.95). Add grilled chicken for $3. The deep-dish quiche of the day ($10.95) comes with a side of soup or salad. For dessert, consider the milkshake-like frozen hot chocolate ($4.50) or one of the cakes, pies or pastries, baked fresh daily.
Heads Up: In the middle of Point Pleasant Beach’s popular shopping district, the Beanery draws a steady crowd of shoppers at lunchtime. The quaint interior makes a relaxing place to recharge the batteries.
The Scoop: A variety of upscale coffees and teas are sold in the restaurant and online. Those in a rush know the takeout service is efficient, and quite busy.
