THE KAFFEE KORNER
118-A Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington
Hours: Mon-Fri, 6 am-3 pm; Sat-Sun, 8 am-2 pm
Style: Warm colors and modern lighting update this old-fashioned luncheonette with a counter and about a dozen tables. The huge storefront window floods the room with light.
Don’t Miss: Burgers come on ciabatta rolls in ten different varieties, from the Blue Burger (blue cheese crumbles, bacon, fried onion straws) to the Flaming Burger (jalapeños, pepper jack cheese and salsa). All burgers are $8.50 and come with curly fries made in-house from fresh spuds. Paninis are popular, and include tomato, basil and mozzarella ($7). The Spicy Italian, stuffed with ham, salami, roasted red peppers, banana peppers, provolone and mayo, is $9. Large salads ($6-$10) and pub starters like buffalo-style chicken dip with tortilla chips ($6.50) are good picks. Breakfast and lunch are served all day. Choose from waffles, French toast or pancakes ($6.50-$9.50), or build your own omelets ($5.75 for one topping, up to $7.50 for five toppings, all served with curly fries and toast).
Heads Up: Servers wait on tables, but coffee is self-serve, so grab a Styrofoam cup and pour yourself a regular, mild, decaf or daily flavored coffee. All coffee roasted in Millville by Kaffe Magnum Opus.
The Scoop: If Kaffee Korner has a family feel, that may be because owner Tina Leva, before opening the restaurant in February, worked for various food services and eateries in town for more than a decade. Her son, Eric, runs the kitchen, and her lifelong best friend, Colleen, manages the floor on weekdays.Click here to leave a comment
