Give Thanks for Pumpkin Spa Treatments

Spas and salons around New Jersey are using the seasonal gourd for pumpkin facials and manicures to give skin a healthy glow.

Each fall season, pumpkin recipes crop up for everything from pie to spicy lattes and smoothies. But did you know that yummy pumpkin is also a secret beauty weapon, packed with nutrients like antioxidants and vitamin A to keep you looking young and vibrant? Spas and salons around New Jersey are using the seasonal gourd for pumpkin facials and manicures to give skin a healthy glow, even in the dead of winter.

Pumpkin proves that skin treatments can be both natural and effective. The spa at Hackensack University Medical Center offers the addition of a hydrating pumpkin peel to any facial during the season (through December 1st). On The Side spa in Westfield combines the power of pumpkin with figs and sweet cherries in their Naturopathica fruit enzyme peel. The enzymes found in these seasonal fruits are absorbed by the skin and work to reverse signs of fine lines and hyperpigmentation.

Pearl Nail Spa in Egg Harbor also celebrates the season with pumpkin peels. Their facial treatment removes dead skin cells to let pumpkin’s free-radical-fighting, wrinkle-reducing properties to penetrate and hydrate the skin, even skin tone and rev-up your complexion. At Ease Spa in Hillsdale has plenty of pumpkin treatments for the picking. Choose from their Harvest Spice or Autumn Leaves package, which come with an organic pumpkin facial and either harvest spice or warm apple cider body polishing. The rejuvenating power of pumpkin works to reverse damage to your skin, while the seasonal body polish gives you a glow to combat the dryness of winter, offered through November 22nd.

But pumpkin treatments don’t end with facials. Hands, nails and even elbows are all areas in need of pumpkin’s hydrating properties as we move into the dry winter months. Suzi’s Salon & Spa in Morristown offers an anti-aging pumpkin peel manicure, which includes deep exfoliation and a pumpkin enzyme peel from fingertips to elbows, followed by a paraffin treatment and an application of vitamin-packed serum to seal in nutrients.

Celebrate fall with one of these specialty treatments, while they are still on this season’s menu!
