Before becoming a food writer, Emily worked at various local delis as a teenager, and so has had the pleasure of both preparing and eating an absurd number of Italian subs and Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwiches. As a writer—and, most emphatically, as an eater—she loves the "Jersey cornucopia" of regional classics mixed with an incredible variety of cultures and cuisines. And as a proud New Jersey native, she knows there is nothing better than a late night spent poring over a massive diner menu and finally ordering just coffee. And possibly Disco fries.
