Chefs’ Tableside Dinner to Benefit the Community FoodBank

Fifteen chefs come together to create a five-course meal for a good cause.

On September 17, the Westin Governor Morris Hotel, Morristown will host a Tableside dinner to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Fifteen chefs will create a five-course menu with wine pairings for 10 guests each. Chefs and guests will be matched at random.

The following chefs will be in attendance: Anthony Bucco, Restaurant Latour; Thomas Cisak, Charka; Bryan Gregg, Escape; Corey Heyer, the Bernards Inn; Bruce Johnson, Harvest Restaurant Group; Paul Kapner, CFBNJ Community Kitchen; James Laird, Restaurant Serenade; Marty Kester, Ninety Acres; Francesco Palmieri, the Orange Squirrel; Craig Polignano, the Ryland Inn; Kevin Sippel, Jockey Hollow; Kevin Takafuji, the Washington House; Robert Ubhaus, Redux; Bobby Varua, Blue Morel; and Todd Villani, Terre Á Terre.

PIG ROAST AT OSTERIA MORINI

On Sunday, September 13, bring the family to a pig roast at Osteria Morini, 107 Morristown Road, Bernardsville to benefit the Bernardsville Fire Department. BRAZILIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED BY SAMBA, MONTCLAIR

In honor of Brazilian Independence Day from September 10 to 12, Samba (7 Park Street Montclair) will offer chocolate brigadiero doughnuts, coconut candy beijinho doughnuts and frosted ring topped doughnuts with sprinkles to match the Brazilian flag. These treats were created by the Montclair Bread Co (113 Walnut Street, Montclair) and will also be available at the bakery.

A Craft Beer Tasting at the Tavern of the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern, One East Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, will feature Elysian Brewing Company (Seattle, WA) craft beers. SAN GENNARO DINNER AT THE PLUCKEMIN INN

Celebrate the feast of San Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples, at a dinner at the Pluckemin Inn, 359 Route 206 South, Bedminster. A three-course ($65) or four-course prix-fixe dinner ($75) with choices will be offered. Prices do not include beverages, tax and gratuity. This will be the only menu available these nights. GARY’S HILLSBOROUGH GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION

An all-day grand opening bash to celebrate the launch of a new location for Gary’s Wine & Marketplace will be held at 601 Rt 206, Hillsborough. Activities include a ribbon cutting; caviar, champagne and wine tastings; balloons and refreshments for children; food truck; in-store giveaways and gift bags for the first 100 guests. The WDHA-FM van will also be on-site and providing giveaways. The free event starts at 10 AM.

 

NJ TACO FESTIVAL

The NJ Taco Festival will be held at the Sussex County Fair Grounds, 37 Plains Road, Augusta. The event will bring together 40 of New Jersey artisanal taco proprietors offering various varieties of tacos including Mexican, Korean, Italian, Irish, BBQ and more. This is how the Collingswood’s Pop Up Gala works. The pop up will be held at an undisclosed location and you have to wear white.
