NEW JERSEY FRESH: FOUR SEASONS FROM FARM TO TABLE

BY RACHEL WESTON

Want to find a farmer’s market in New Jersey? Do you want to learn about your favorite vegetables and how to buy them, store them and cook them? Are you looking for a local seasonal recipe created by a New Jersey chef? Then look no further than this new informative book by Rachel Weston that guides us through the four growing seasons in the Garden State. Of particular interest were the recipes from some of my favorite restaurants and chefs including: Pasta e Piselli from Michael Fiorianti,, executive chef at Satis in Jersey City; Acorn Squash Moranga from Samba in Montclair; and Endive Caesar Salad from chef Francesco Palmieri, owner of The Orange Squirrel in Bloomfield.

Weston a chef, blogger and cooking teacher, will be at the following Farmer’s Markets, where she will be selling and signing her book:

Saturday, June 13: Cherry Grove Farm’s Grass-Fed BBQ, from 11:30 AM to 5 PM.

Saturday, June 27: West Windsor Farmers Market, from 10 AM to Noon.

Tuesday, June 30: Millburn Farmers’ Market, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Saturday, July 11: Pennington Farmers’ Market, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
