On February 4, the Deirdre’s House wine and chocolate tasting will be held at the Hyatt Morristown, 3 Speedwell Avenue, Morristown, to benefit Deirdre’s House, a center for Morris County’s child victims who have suffered abuse and/or neglect or have witnessed domestic violence. 7 to 10 PM; $65. COOKING CLASSES AT MIDDLESEX COMMUNITY COLLEGE

On February 3, Chef Kevin Sbraga, winner of Bravo TV’s national competition Top Chef, will offer cooking demonstrations at Middlesex County College, 2600 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison. Sbraga will do a breakfast demonstration at 9:30 AM, a “little feast” program at 4 PM, and a dinner demonstration at 6:15 PM in Crabiel Hall. His program is free, but registration is required and seating is limited. Additionally, the college is offering 30 cooking classes starting this month, which cost $50 each and include a tasting and copies of the recipes. HALAL MENU OFFERED AT TRE PIANI, PRINCETON

Tre Piani, Forrestal Village, 120 Rockingham Row, Princeton, has a halal menu with beef and chicken breasts purchased through halal-certified sources including Khan Baba Market in Kendall Park. The beef is cooked in a separate cast-iron skillet, and the chicken is sautéed in its own pans. No alcohol is used in any of the halal dishes, and specialty nonalcoholic drinks are available. Menu items include rigatoni with chicken, grilled rib-eye steak, burgers, spicy grilled chicken breast, vegetarian cassoulet, pizzette, and local flounder. For reservations, call 609-452-1515.

CHEFS WITH FLAIR FOOD & WINE TASTING

On January 31, a Chefs With Flair food and wine tasting will be held at the Hyatt Morristown, 3 Speedwell Avenue, Morristown, to benefit the American Lung Association in New Jersey. Participating establishments include Bar Cara, Cinders Wood Fire Grill, Eclectic Grill (Hyatt Morristown), the Elijah’s Promise Culinary School, Fascino, McLoone’s Woodbridge Grille, Tim Schafer’s Cuisine, Uproot Restaurant, and Vine Restaurant. 5:30 to 9 PM; tickets are $35, $50, and $75.
