FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5
Attention beer aficionados! The 3rd Annual Jersey City Homebrew Competition will be held at the 4th Street Arts & Music Festival, 377 4th St, Jersey City, from 4 to 8 PM. The competition is sponsored by the Jersey City Brew Club and Jersey City Ties, a professional organization promoting community development through service and social events. Executive chef Ryan DePersio of Fascino, 331 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, will welcome executive chef Anthony Bucco of The Ryland Inn into his kitchen for an exclusive five-course Chef’s Tasting Menu. 7 PM; $75 plus tax, gratuity and beverages; BYO.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 8

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13

Executive chef Anthony Bucco of The Ryland Inn, 115 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse Station, Whitehouse (908-534-4011) will be welcoming executive chef Ryan DePersio of Fascino in Montclair into his kitchen for an exclusive 5-course Chef’s Tasting menu. 6 PM; $75 plus tax, gratuity and beverages.

The Green Valley Farms at Crystal Springs Resort will host a Harvest Festival at 135 Route 94 Vernon featuring farm-fresh produce, local artisan food producers, hay rides, pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples and more. The 56-acre Green Valley Farm provides fruit and vegetables for the resort’s restaurants. The festival is being held in conjunction with the Sparta Farmer’s Market and will feature about 40 farmers and local food vendors. A petting zoo, a cider press for apples, as well as cooking demonstrations from Crystal Spring chefs are among the festivities.11 AM to 4 PM; free admission.

A Harvest & Music Festival hosted by Witherspoon Grill, Princeton, will be held at the Hinds Community Plaza adjacent to the Princeton Public Library on Witherspoon Street to benefit the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). Foods will be available for purchase from Witherspoon Grill, Tico’s Eatery & Juice Bar, Button’s Creperie and Sweet Mama’s desserts. 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM; free admittance. In addition to the Festival, through October 21, the Witherspoon Grill and Blue Point Grill will be collecting food and hygiene donations, and monetary contributions for TAS. Items can be dropped off at either restaurant.
