FRIDAY OCTOBER 11
A South Jersey Oktoberfest will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Glassboro, 325 Rowan Boulevard, Glassboro to benefit the American Red Cross. 7 to 10 PM; $20 in advance and $30 at the door. For more info, log onto their website.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12
Oktoberfest will be celebrated at The Stone House at Stirling Ridge, 50 Stirling Ave, Warren, on the outdoor patio featuring Kegs of Breckenridge and Weyerbacher, hot soft pretzels, bratwursts, potato dumplings, cabbage and apples, apple strudel and German chocolate cake. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13
Executive chef Anthony Bucco of The Ryland Inn, 115 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse Station (908-534-4011) will be welcoming executive chef Ryan DePersio of Fascino in Montclair into his kitchen for an exclusive 5-course Chef’s Tasting menu. 6 PM; $75, plus tax, gratuity and beverages.

The Green Valley Farms at Crystal Springs Resort will host a Harvest Festival at 135 Route 94 Vernon, featuring farm-fresh produce, local artisan food producers, hay rides, pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples and more. The 56-acre Green Valley Farm produces fruits and vegetables for the resort’s restaurants. The festival will take place in conjunction with the Sparta Farmer’s Market and will feature about 40 different farmers and local food vendors. They’ll also have petting zoo for children and a cider press for apples, as well as cooking demonstrations from Crystal Spring chefs.11 AM to 4 PM; free admission.

A Harvest & Music Festival hosted by Witherspoon Grill, Princeton, will be held at the Hinds Community Plaza adjacent to the Princeton Public Library on Witherspoon Street to benefit the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). Foods will be available for purchase from Witherspoon Grill, Tico’s Eatery & Juice Bar, Button’s Creperie and Sweet Mama’s desserts. 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM; free admission. In addition to the Festival, the Witherspoon Grill and Blue Point Grill will be collecting food and hygiene items, and monetary donations for TASK through October 21. MONDAY, OCTOBER 14
The Wine Library Super Tasting will be held at The Manor, 111 Prospect Ave, West Orange, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Children’s IBD Center at Mount Sinai and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. 5:30 to 9:30 PM; $95; VIP tickets with 4:30 admission $130. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17
Attendees will decide what pairs better with food: wine or beer, at a Cru Vs Brew fundraiser hosted by Amanti Vino to benefit Intensive Therapeutics, an occupational therapy group for children. This event will be held at The Women’s Club of Upper Montclair, 190 Cooper Ave, Montclair, with Robert Sinskey (winemaker/owner of RSV), Garrett Oliver (Brewmaster of Brooklyn Brewery), Steve Mathiasson (top viticulturist and winemaker in Napa Valley) and Top Chef Ariane Duarte (CulinAriane) in attendance. This is how it works: For each of 5 courses from chef Ariane, diners will sample one beer and one wine, then vote on a winner for each course. The following menu will be served: grilled octopus, sweet peppers, goat cheese, chorizo vinaigrette; seared fennel-dusted salmon, prawn, roasted maitake mushrooms, parsnip puree; roasted pork loin, pork belly, butternut squash bacon hash, apple-cider reduction pork sauce; artisanal cheeses; chocolate caramel panna cotta, Amarone cherries. 7 PM; $250. A ‘Steers and Suds’ Dinner with the Cape May Brewery featuring grass-fed organic beef from the Rosenkranz Farms in the Finger Lakes region of New York, will be held at the Ebbitt Room, Virginia Hotel, 25 Jackson St, Cape May. $75. Reservations: 609-884-5700.
