CHEF/OWNER ANTHONY PUCCIARELLO FROM CIELO
Through Labor Day, chef/owner Anthony Pucciarello and his crew at Cielo, 168 Passaic Ave, Fairfield, are offering a special discount of 50 percent off for kids under 18 who wear their sports/school uniforms or the logo from their favorite sports teams. Chef Pucciarello is also reprising his popular Grillin’ ‘n’ Chillin’ dinner special, available Tuesday through Thursday, which features a tomato salad, plus 16-ounce steak for $22.95. Later this summer, the tomatoes will come straight from the restaurant’s 300 square-foot, on-premise garden, where herbs and peppers are also grown and preserved for use all year round. CHEF JEFFREY OREL
Jeffrey Orel is no longer at 3Forty Grill in Hoboken. He is in the process of opening Denville Meat Shop in Denville at 28 Diamond Spring Road. Orel will be making his own charcuterie, conducting cooking classes and wine classes and will offer a full line of upscale prepared foods and catering. There will be a 100 percent organic baker preparing breads and pastries daily, grass-fed beef, pork and lamb, wagyu-kobe beef, Berkshire pork. He will age his beef and Berkshire pork on premise. CHEF DAVID WERNER
David Werner, who came on as the new chef de cuisine in May at Satis, Jersey City has moved on. Before coming to Satis Werner was with Landmark Hospitality. Plans are to promote from within the restaurant with executive chef Michael Fiorianti mentoring the new chef de cuisine.
