THE OFFICE TAVERN GRILL, MORRISTOWN
After a complete gut renovation and a brand new design, The Office Tavern Grill has reopened at 3 South Street, Morristown (973-285-0220). The two-story, 176 seat restaurant has an outdoor patio area, private dining room, open kitchen and a balcony overlooking the two-story bar, which serves 40 craft beer selections. The menu features American fare with a modern twist with appetizers such as ginger-beer -infused deviled eggs, homemade truffled tater tots and sweet potato nachos with apple butter, and BBQ pulled pork. There is a raw bar, salads made from locally sourced ingredients, tavern-style entrees such as braised short ribs, steaks and chicken made on the in-house rotisserie. A stone-fired, 800-degree oven produces flat breads, desserts and other items.

LOOKING AHEAD, RAVAL, JERSEY CITY

The space at 136 Newark Ave, Jersey City, which was formerly Synergy Gym, has been purchased by the owners of Satis, Jersey City. Co-owner Michael Garcia told Table Hopping With Rosie that construction is set to begin this month and the new restaurant’s name will be RAVAL after the trendy, art-, music- and food-driven neighborhood of Barcelona. The menu will feature Spanish tapas, sangrias and much more under the direction of Mike Fiorianti, who is also executive chef of Satis. Read about our last visit to Satis.
