Style
Inviting, busy gastropub with industrial lighting and a large bar that features flatscreens and high-top tables, with regular tables in a connected dining area.
The scoop
Named for the busy highway it fronts on, 22 West Tap and Grill opened in late 2016 in what was formerly the Office. Owner Kevin Trimarchi, a Martinsville native, also runs the new Main Street Gourmet Deli in Somerville.
The menu
Start with the excellent wings (tossed in buffalo, barbecue or mango-pepper sauce), edamame dumplings or the popular Trash Can Nachos, served from a small (and yes, clean) garbage pail. Choose from six sandwiches, such as a crispy buttermilk-fried chicken sandwich, and several burger options, including build-your-own. (There’s also a build-your-own Bloody Mary menu.) Sandwiches and burgers come with choice of french fries, potato chips or sweet potato tots. The Taco Tuesday menu includes Mexican street corn (left), tacos, fajitas and empanadas. Other entrées include salmon, baby-back ribs and a loaded crab-cake mac skillet. The beer list includes some local crafts.
Heads up
22 West recently added outdoor seating and expanded its parking lot.
