Eataly, Short Hills

Global Italian marketplace and retail concept Eataly will open its first New Jersey location at the Short Hills Mall on Wednesday, November 13. Spanning just over 17,000 square feet, Eataly Short Hills will feature one restaurant, several quick-service counters, and a retail section with imported Italian and regional delicacies. “As Eataly continues on an expansion plan to new markets across North America, we are thrilled to make our debut in New Jersey,” said Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America, in a press release. Eataly currently has 12 other North American locations, and more than 50 worldwide.

This new coffee shop and candle studio blends high-end retail items, curated around conscious living, with exceptional coffee.

Perla Oyster Bar, Maplewood

This is New Jersey’s only mobile oyster bar, combining the best elements of the classic dockside oyster house with a funky wine and cocktail bar. Perla also offers cocktail parties—the truck will come to you!—and classes.

Lori’s Mixing Bowl, Harrington Park

This specialty cake shop sells custom cakes and other baked goods.

Closings

Grande Buddha Izakaya, North Caldwell

This sushi restaurant recently closed. A portion of the message posted to its website reads, “It is with great remorse that we announce the closure of Grande Buddha Izakaya. Following Chef Allen’s recent heart attack, we’ve made the decision to prioritize his and his family’s health and well-being.”
