D’CARBON IN PATERSON
Though away from the Little Lima area of Paterson, D’Carbon boasts Peruvian delicacies you’d find around Market Street. Its less-crowded location allows the restaurant to have more seats/tables than the typical North Jersey Peruvian place. It even has its own parking lot. There is a second location in Woodland Park.
THE STYLE
Rustic look with wood tabletops and a well-stocked bar in back with a view of the entire restaurant. Multiple screens, usually showing soccer. Count on holiday and seasonal decorations.
THE MENU
Traditional Peruvian, featuring classics like polla a la brasa rotisserie chicken. Classics like chaufas (fried rice) and saltados (Peruvian stir-fry) available with chicken, beef, shrimp or a mixture. Also, grilled meats and a variety of seafood dishes, like jalea, fried seafood topped with red onion relish known as salsa criolla. Goes well with a pisco sour, Peru’s national cocktail, made from pisco, lime juice, simple syrup and egg white. Online ordering is available.
HEADS UP
Outdoor seating available in warmer months, with patio tables, stone-wall décor and an outdoor bar.
