Don’t Miss: The broad menu of Italian classics. For starters, choose from several varieties of calamari: Traditional, served with marinara sauce ($9.95); Thai style with sweet chili sauce ($9.95); or the Balsamico, breaded and sauteed with sweet cherry peppers, garlic, capers, scallions and balsamic vinegar ($10.95). An array of pastas (including a whole-wheat penne) are offered with homemade sauces such as vodka, pomodori, pesto, alfredo and marinara with or without meat ($13.95–$16.95). Italian favorites range from cheesy eggplant rollatini ($16.95) to a mushroom-laden veal marsala ($22.95), and spicy seafood Fra Diablo ($24.95), and are served in generous portions with a side of capellini. Dishes like grilled Cajun shrimp ($21.95) and filet mignon ($25.95) are accompanied by roasted or mashed potatoes and veggies, or pasta with marinara. Pizza is another big draw. Try the Greco, topped with spinach, baby shrimp, feta and mozzarella ($11.50/$17.50) or the Marco Polo, with roasted red peppers, basil, garlic and mozzarella ($10.50/$15.50). Salads and sandwiches (served with battered french fries) round out the menu.
Heads Up: A bar menu offers munchies like nachos and wings. Happy hour—with $3.50 beers, $4.50 house wine and $5.50 sangria— takes place Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 pm.
The Scoop: A mainstay in Summit since 1935, Marco Polo has been operated by the family of current owners, Agapios Kyritsis and Apostolos Apostolou, since 1965.
