AMANTI VINO AND THE MONTCLAIR FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL PRESENT: THE SPEAKEASY

On Saturday, January 28, Amanti Vino and the Montclair Food & Wine Festival presents The Speakeasy, which will be held at The Wellmont Theater, 5 Seymour Street, Montclair, to benefit Intensive Therapeutics and Montclair H.S. DIGS. Libations will be coordinated by Amanti Vino and culinary tastes will be provided by over twenty area restaurants. VIP Entry $185; 6:30 to 10 PM; General Admission $95; 7:30 to 10 PM. BEERFEST IN ASBURY PARK
A Beerfest will be held at Convention Hall, Asbury Park on January 28 and 29 featuring craft beers, ciders, retro beers, classic boardwalk food and tasting glasses. For information visit AsburyParkBeerfest.com.

PIEDMONTESE BEEF DINNER AT BEARD HOUSE, NYC
On Thursday, January 26, a Piedmontese Beef dinner will be presented by Fossil Farms, Boonton at the James Beard House, 167 West 12th Street, New York City. Two of the six participating chefs are from NJ: Michael Carrino owner of Pig & Prince Restaurant in Montclair; and John Sauchelli from Maritime Parc, Jersey City. 7 PM; $210; members $160. WASSAILING THE APPLE TREES
The annual Wassailing of the Apple Trees Farm Festival will be held from 1 to 4 PM on January 29 at Terhune Orchards, 330 Cold Soil Road, Princeton. This is an ancient British tradition of gathering around a bonfire, where participants chant a traditional verse that invokes the positive spirits in the orchards and scare away the evil spirits. Traditional Handsome Molly Dancers will perform and there will be classic apple desserts and much more. For information or directions call 609-924- 2310.

COOKED & UNCORKED
On Monday, February 27, A Cooked & Uncorked event will be held at the Pines Manor in Edison with 20 fire departments competing in the ultimate cook-off to benefit Saint Barnabas Burn Center. 6 to 9 PM; $60 in advance and $65 at the door. Tickets available at cookedanduncorked.com
