Bendix Diner, Hasbrouck Heights
This iconic diner, which closed last year, has been purchased by Peter Meskouris, the owner of Jackson Hole diner in Englewood, who plans to renovate it and restore it to its original appearance. Located on Route 17, the Bendix shut down after nearly 80 years in business due to numerous fire and health code violations. John Diakakis, who had long operated the beloved eatery despite being blind, owned a third of the business along with his siblings.

This new Mediterranean tavern is a BYOB spot serving up authentic Greek flavors. Dishes include chicken souvlaki platters, biftekia and more.
787 Coffee Co., Montclair
The menu at Montclair‘s newest coffee shop offers specialty drinks like whiskey- and rum-infused espressos, in addition to lattes, teas and cold brews. 787 Coffee is a Puerto Rican brand that grows its coffee on its farm, Hacienda Iluminada, and is committed to supporting local farmers and upholding the “highest standards of quality and sustainability.”

Landmark Tavern at the Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station announced that it has paused for the winter. The Ryland Inn posted on Instagram that it is continuing its “next phase of enhancements to the property,” including a conference center, Stork Club amenities, a hotel and more. The venue expects to return in the spring “with an even more vibrant experience. In the meantime, The Ryland Inn remains open for weddings, private events, house events, and celebrations.”
