Melissa Alt Cakes Makes Creative Desserts

Melissa Alt's professional, artistic cakes range from classic tiered style to fully sculpted and/or painted designs.

She is an artist, a sculptor and a baker. Melissa Alt, who creates stunning professional artistic cakes that range from the classic tiered (some reminded me of Tiffany stained glass) to fully sculpted and/or painted, such as her animals (elephants, lions, gorillas and more), and whimsical like her Kosher barrel of pickles. All are edible and each cake is a one of a kind. They are truly a true work of art.

After high school, Melissa interned with the Cake Boss, where she learned the fundamentals of cake decoration. Then she attended Pratt Institute, studying painting and sculpture, where she incorporated edible materials into her projects. For her final thesis, she created a full-size woman out of chocolate! After college Melissa launched Melissa Alt Cakes.

Custom, tiered cakes start at $650. Sculpture cakes start at $1,150. The price depends on the amount of detail and intricacy of the artwork. Located in Teaneck, she offers delivery within the tri-state area (and beyond) check out these masterpieces at her website.
