BREAKING NEWS: New Chef For Esty Street; Adara Closes

Chef Anthony LoPinto has been named the new chef of Esty Street in Park Ridge. Meanwhile, chef Tre Ghoshal of Adara, the ambitious molecular gastronomy restaurant in Montclair, has announced that this Saturday, November 9, will be Adara's last after a two-year run.

LoPinto was previously at Casa di Amici (Denville), Sweet Basil’s (West Orange), Earth (Totowa), Fortunato (Lyndhurst), Crave (Fairfield) and, most recently, Threefold Education Center (Chestnut Ridge, NY).

Chef Adam Weiss–who had been at Esty Street for 12 years and won the Ultimate Chef Bergen County competition in February–left Esty Street in April and was replaced by chef Chris Curado, who had been at Chakra in Paramus. Esty Street is at 86 Spring Valley Road, Park Ridge (201-307-1515).

In a message on Adara’s Tumblr site, Ghoshal thanked patrons and staff. He also spoke of the future:

"I was always clear from the day we opened that we were on a 2 ½ year lease and that we would use the Montclair model to attract an investment group that would move this concept to a central location in a major metropolis. I believe that this concept deserves to be amongst the best in order to achieve the proper notoriety and attention in modern gastronomy. We are now at the end of that lease term and we are moving forward in our plans to build Restaurant Adara in a central location."
