Cooking For Kids Raises Money for St. Joseph’s Hospital

The event will feature chefs and guests from the New Jersey food scene.

On Tuesday, April 19, a Cooking For Kids: Gourmet Fare From Everywhere charity event will be held at Westmount Country Club, 728 Rifle Camp Road, Woodland Park, to benefit St Joseph’s Hospital; $195 (7 to 9:30 PM); VIP $275 (6 to 7 PM).

Confirmed participants include Bravo TV’s Top Chef contestant chef Ariane Duarte of Ariane Kitchen & Bar in Verona; winner of the Food Network’s Chopped, chef Michael Carrino from Pig & Prince Gastro Lounge in Montclair; chef Ryan DePersio of Fascino in Montclair, Nico Kitchen + Bar at NJPAC and Battello in Jersey City; Food Network’s Sweet Genius contestant chef Colleen Grapes of Oceana in New York, NY; chef Eric B. Levine of Morris Tap & Grill in Randolph and Paragon Tap & Table of Clark, also a winner of Chopped; winner of the Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen, chef Francesco Palmieri of the Orange Squirrel in Bloomfield; and Fox TV’s Hell’s Kitchen contestant, chef Anton Testino of the newly opened Axton’s in Pompton Lakes; and over 30 other chefs who will offer samplings of their signature dishes. Gary’s Wine & Marketplace will be serving as the event’s beverage sponsor, offering guests tasting pours of fine wines and spirits.

SPECIAL DINNER AT ELEMENTS, PRINCETON
On Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, executive chef Scott Anderson chef/owner of Elements, 66 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, welcomes chef Shinobu Namae from L’Effervescence in Tokyo, Japan. L’Effervescence has been ranked in the top-100 restaurants in the world and top-15 in Asia by the the Diners Club Academy and has received two-Michelin stars. Chef Anderson and chef Namae will create an innovative menu focusing on Sansai season. Sansai translates to “mountain vegetables” and refers to all foraged herbs and vegetables found in the mountains of Japan, especially in the spring season.
