Frost Bites Blows into Montclair Soon

The event will feature nibbles from several Montclair restaurants as well as an appearance from Chef Amanda Freitag.

On January 28, step out of the cold and into Montclair Food + Wine Festival’s Frost Bites Winter Party at the Woman’s Club of Upper Montclair, 200 Cooper Avenue, Upper Montclair. Special guest will be Food Network star and New Jersey native, Amanda Freitag. Confirmed participants include Ani Ramen, Applegate Farms, Kitchen & Ariane Bar, Blue Jay Syrup, BURG, Cakeaholic Obsession, Costanera, Dolce Federica, Escape, Fascino, Fin, Fitzgerald’s, Gelotti, Gencarelli’s, Gus & Co, Highlawn Pavilion, Java Love, Jersey Artisan Distillery, Laurel & Sage, Maritime Parc, Mish Mish, Miss Nicky’s Toffee, Pig and Prince, Saluté. The Orange Squirrel, Villalobos, and Vital Dining.

The evening will include passed small bites paired with plenty of bubbly courtesy of Taittinger and wine from Amanti Vino. There will also be live music from Julie’s Party and Bob McHugh on the piano.

Door prizes include a certificate for a recreational class at the International Culinary Center in New York.

LOOKING AHEAD—AMERICAN CUT BAR & GRILL, ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS

American Cut Bar & Grill is expected to open March 2016 at 495 Sylvan Avenue (9W), Englewood Cliffs, in the space that was previously Assembly Steak House. The restaurant will be helmed by chef Marc Forgione.

The 10,000 square foot, 275-seat restaurant will have two private dining rooms equipped with state-of-the art audio and visual system, an elegant outdoor terrace with fire pits and a performance stage. It will be open daily for lunch and dinner with an approachable menu that includes a modern take on classic American dishes.

Chef Marc Forgione is the chef/owner of Restaurant Marc Forgione, American Cut and Lobster Press, and is the co-owner/partner of Khe-Yo. He won season three of Food Network’s The Next Iron Chef and received a two-star review in the New York Times as well as a Michelin star.
