5 Frozen Cocktails to Get You Through the Heat Wave

From boozy ice pops to frosé, New Jersey bartenders have gotten creative with their frozen offerings this summer.

This summer has been anything but ordinary, but you can rely on these frozen cocktails to get you through the rest of it. From boozy ice pops to frosé, restaurants and bars all over the state have gotten creative with their frozen offerings. Whether you order your drinks to go or enjoy them while dining outdoors, they’ll keep you cool and calm as we ride through the end of August.

Boozy Ice Pops at Talula’s in Asbury Park

In Asbury Park, Talula’s is turning the to-go cocktail game on its head with boozy ice pops, which rotate in flavors and have included the Arnie Palmie (with vodka), Rosé Cucumber cooler (with cucumber infused vodka and rosé wine) and the Cold Brew Coffee (with bourbon and oat milk). They also have a Mystery Pop, a limited edition flavor that gets added into the regular boozy pop rotation.

Road Iceys from the Archer in Jersey City

This downtown Jersey City cocktail bar shut down for a month at the beginning of the pandemic, but reopened with a popular concept: takeaway cocktails. When the hot weather hit, they began offering “Road Iceys” featuring frozen negronis, palomas, daiquiris and more. You can pre-order online, walk up and grab to go, or get your cocktail delivered (locally).

Frosé at the Palm Grill and Tiki Bar in Beach Haven

Beat the heat with the Palm Grill’s frosé, made with rosé and strawberry puree. With the option to sit directly in the sand, or at their Tiki bar, this spot will have you feeling like you left Jersey for a tropical destination. They’re open daily from 11am-9pm.

Miami Vice Cocktail at Harry’s Ocean Bar and Grill in Cape May

Deciding between a piña colada and strawberry daiquiri is never easy, and at Harry’s you don’t have to choose. Their Miami Vice gives you the perfect blend of each, and you can enjoy it with an oceanfront view. Harry’s is open from 8am-10pm daily for outdoor dining and takeout.
