Fu Changes Name, Raval Opens

A Fairfield restaurant takes a new moniker; plus restaurant openings and closings.

Fu Restaurant, 14 Rt 46 E, Fairfield, which I wrote about in February, has changed their name to Shanghai 46. Same owner, menu and staff.

RAVAL, JERSEY CITY OPENS

Raval, 136 Newark Avenue, Jersey City (201-209-1099), brought to you by the owners of Satis in Jersey City, has opened featuring a tapas bar and restaurant. Along with an extensive Spanish wine list menu items will include: tapas, small and large plates, cheeses and a five-course or seven course chef’s tasting along with some vegetarian options. The bar and lounge will feature specialty cocktails and entertainment. Open daily.

RECENT NEW JERSEY RESTAURANT OPENINGS

Legend’s Corner Pub, 11 Central Avenue, Midland Park (201-857-4343), has opened offering salads, sandwiches and house specialties such as pot roast, meatloaf, sliced steak sandwich and fish ‘n’ chips.

Craft beers are featured at the newly opened McGinley Square Pub, 755 Montgomery Street, Jersey City (347-408-5194).

Noodle Fan, 557 Englishtown Road, Monroe Township, (732-446-2820); BYO.

Oriental Empire, an Asian cuisine and hibachi restaurant offers Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes, including Kung Pao Chicken, beef with broccoli, vegetable fried rice, seaweed salad, hibachi filet mignon, pad Thai, and Thai curry chicken has opened at 54 English Plaza, Red Bank (732-268-8366); BYO.

“Life is short. Have a donut,” is the mantra at the newly opened Purple Glaze, a coffee shop featuring donuts and bagels.  Location: 516 Summerfield Avenue, Asbury Park (732-361-5308).
