ELEMENTS, PRINCETON
Elements, 163 Bayard Lane, Princeton,
will be closing June 28 and relocating to 66 Witherspoon St, Princeton early 2015. To celebrate their departure, a special six-course tasting menu will be offered this final weekend of service for $89 per guest. Call 609-924-0078 for reservations. While elements is closed, chef Scott Anderson will be spending time at his other restaurant, Mistral at 66 Witherspoon Street, Princeton.

TAPHOUSE GRILLE COMING TO HACKETTSTOWN

Construction has started on the second location of the Taphouse Grille (the other is in Wayne) which will be located at 1930 Rt 57 in Hackettstown. A gastropub-type menu from chef Bryan Cioletti will feature burgers, artisanal brick-oven pizza and other comfort foods with family-friendly prices. The space will have 6,000 square-feet of private dining capabilities for up to 100 people, a full outdoor patio and a large bar featuring 24 taps of rotating craft beers and multiple TVs. Owners are Joe Rinaldi, Mike Fetherston and Andrew Gering both from the Sushi Lounge group, as well as the Wayne Taphouse location. Plans are for a late summer early fall opening.

OPENINGS

Allure Oyster Bar and Grill, has opened at 601 Union Ave, Brielle (732-528-4350).

Caffe Bene, a coffee shop that sells gelato, desserts, pastries and brunch items, has opened at 79 Hudson St, Hoboken (201-683-4458).

Camillo’s Wood-Fired Trattoria, previously Nuovo Trattoria, offering Italian family favorites, as well as focaccia sandwiches and wood-fired pizzas, has opened at 345 Rt 9 S, Manalpan (732-308-9600); BYO.

Jimmy John’s, a franchise known for its gourmet sandwiches, has opened at 96 Hudson St, Hoboken (201-710-5525). The web page states: “Bread is baked in-house everyday and served fresh. Meat and veggies are sliced fresh in-house everyday. The turkey is real turkey; the roast beef is real roast beef—no additives, no vegetable-based fillers, and no fake stuff. Nothing is delivered pre-sliced. Real Hellmann’s mayo, real Grey Poupon, real olive oil and red-wine vinegar—it’s the best of the best.”

Milk Sugar Love
, an ice cream parlor and bakeshop, has opened at 19 McWilliams Place, Jersey City (201-984-0530).

Roots Steakhouse
has opened at 17 Chestnut St, Ridgewood (201-444-1922), and unlike many of the restaurants in the town they have a liquor license. The restaurant is owned by the Harvest Restaurant Group who also own a Roots in Morristown and Summit, Trap Rock in Berkeley Heights, Huntley Tavern in Summit, Tabor Road Tavern and Grato in Morris Plains, 3 West in Basking Ridge and Urban Table in Basking Ridge and Morristown. The menu features steaks and seafood.

Soy & Ginger Wok Grill, a take-out restaurant, has opened at 14 E Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston (973-533-9888)
