Call It In: Another Way to Do Thanksgiving

Places to pick up your holiday feast.

For Thanksgiving, you can make dinner, you can make reservations—or you can make a choice to have it all.
It's called The Catered Thanksgiving. You order it all, you pick it all up and you serve it. The only things that are required
are reheating and table-setting. Oh, OK. You have to clean up after the feeding. But that clean-up will not include all you
would have mussed if you'd cooked.
Not so bad, huh?
There's still time to order the classic Thanksgiving feast, be it from your local specialty market or a restaurant that offers
a full turkey repast. Look around: You'll find those options abound almost in your own back yard.
Here are two examples, from folks who've been planning your holiday menu for months.

Redux, a market and restaurant at 3 Central Avenue in Madison, is offering catering platters from chef-owner Robert Ubhaus: A complete
Thanksgiving dinner is $140 for 3 to 4 people; $260 for 6 to 8 people; or $380 for 10 to 12 people. Individual items can be ordered by the
half tray, which feeds up to 10. These include sliced turkey, $65; sausage and mushroom stuffing, $45; Brussels sprouts with grana padano, $40;
mashed potatoes, $40; and green bean almondine, $40. Butternut squash soup and turkey gravy are each $10 a quart. Orders must be placed by
Thursday, November 16; pick-up is Wednesday, November 22 between 2 and 7 pm.
Redux is closed on Thanksgiving Day. To order, call 973-845-6263; visit reduxnj.com for more information.

A 24-pound turkey dinner to feed 15 to 18 people is $175, while a half-turkey dinner, to feed 8 to 10, is $95. Side dishes by the quart include butternut squash soup and extra turkey gravy, each at $15. Other sides, to serve 8 to 10 in half-tray size, include maple-whipped sweet potatoes, $50; cranberry-and-apple bread stuffing, $48; and Brussels sprouts, $50. All orders are to be placed by Thursday, November 16 and picked up before 8 pm Wednesday, November 22. The restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
